Coming into September, still catching good numbers of fish. The
trout bite is early, still on piggies and croacker over submerged
reefs and sand grass pockets. Still catching good numbers of black
drum as well, on dead or live shrimp under a cork. Redfish are fair,
starting to get more keepers on croacker, piggies, and dead bait.
With the summer coming to an end, and kids going back to school,
this has made mid-week fishing exceptionally great with less boats
on the water. I still have some days available in September and
October and don't forget duck season is right around the corner. So,
time to start planning a cast and blast. I look forward to hearing
from you soon.

Fishing report for end of August 2015.
Floundering in August meant going shallow and I mean shallow with a
lot of fish in 3" of water and on shell. Tides can fluctuate from
high to low water conditions change often along with the winds can
make finding clear water, difficult. Still getting limits every
night 15"to 20" average with 2-3 sheepshead a night. October is fast
approaching my weekends are starting to book up . Don't miss out on
some of the best flounder gigging of the year along with sheepshead
and drum migrating for winter can be incredible. November is no
gigging for flounder but you can gig sheepshead and drum limit 5 per
person and 2 flounder per person on rod and reel in November.
December regulations are the 1st thru the 14th - 2 flounder gigged
per person and 5 per person sheepshead and drum. After the 14th,
December regulations are 5 flounder, 5 sheepshead, and 5 drum per

9-1-2015: Fishing has been
absolutely amazing the past couple of weeks. We have been catching
some really nice trout around the boat hole and in night hawk bay.
We have also been sight casting redfish early in the morning then
catching limits of flounder on rod and reel as the tide starts going
out. The weather has gotten much cooler in the past couple of weeks
making the fishing even better all day long.

Well summer is over and kids are back in school now. Over the last
couple of weeks it's been fairly tough for me to catch reds ( in
which I primarily fish for ) on a daily basis because of the calm
wind conditions and very clear water. Most days I've been able to
catch near limits, but it has not been very easy. Enough stress to
drive a guide plumb crazy! 6-10 slot reds and maybe a couple black
drum is all I've managed to bring to the docks. Frustrating for sure
when I can see them and not get bit. With September rolling around
things should pick up for me once again with being able to get some
fronts in here and more wind. The black drum are starting to show
really good in the area I fish and it will be ON with both species
before long. I'm tired of August, and glad the month is gone!
I still have some dates open if you would like to book

winds - Lots of fish!! Summer 2015 has come to an end and we
have been hard at it all summer long. The majority of my customers
were able to limit out every night, and only two nights out of the
five months where we weren't able to gig our limit. The
shallow flats have been dead the past three weeks, which means I am
making a thirty minute boat ride to where the fish are at. I have
been gigging the flounder over hard sand and around grass beds.
Where there is bait, there is flounder. The size of the
flounder are averaging around 2 to 3 pounds. It looks like we should
have some nice flounder this winter. I'd like to say a BIG
THANK YOU to everyone I had the pleasure of taking out this summer,
lots of memories made.

Wind has finally laid down and the trout bite is on fire. We've been
fishing the reefs in Nueces bay free lining croaker and picking up
easy limits. Picking up a few reds along the way has made for some
nice boxes. Hit the surf on the calm days. Free-line croaker or
piggies. Trout has been the the best bite with some nice slot reds
mixed in. We have been starting on the third bar and working our way
in. Be safe out there and watch the wind and waves.

9-1-2015: Hello South
Texas, Fall is around the corner and I'm starting to see all the
signs, I believe we will have a banner fall this time. Summer
gigging is limits every time I go out, lots of 15 to 18 inch fish
right now with a few 20 plus fish around, last night on the full
moon they were hiding good, but we had our limit plus some nice
Sheepshead by 10;30 my customers have been happy all summer long.
It looks like the water is so high at night that the sheepshead are
coming up on the flats, look for them around oysters and any kind of
structure, they like hiding under duck blinds too ,most of the
fishing going on is just south of Port Aransas, and all the way to
the old fish pass, good redfish catches are being reported in
Shamrock lakes early morning. Other fishing news is that the black
drum and flounder are being caught on the cuts and outside shore of
St. Joe , directly across from Rockport, big schools have been
spotted from Paul's Mott to Long Reef, fishing is great as well as
Gigging. My best to all, ready for a cool down!

9-1-2015: Hello To Everyone!
Labor Day is almost upon us, the fishing is good to excellent, and
catching will continue to get better. We recently had a Cystic
Fibrosis Tournament here in Rockport and I am happy to report we
placed 5th out of 70 boats. The old saying is "the one that got
away"...well it is true here. We lost two big fish by breaking the
lines and I'm sure those two monsters would have placed us close to
the front. The two clients/friends had a great time, so did I, and
the tournament received a bunch of donations to help in the fight
for a cure. We were using Piggy Perch in the pot holes for the Reds
and Piggy Perch for the Trout in 5' to 7' water. On another note I
have written several Articles for
which were titled "The Prime Time Red Fishing Time" and that time of
the year is just around the corner, also. Another event to remember
which is fairly soon, shortly after Labor Day, is the Duck Hunting
Season. A lot to remember, but what fun and anticipation for the
approaching Fall. Please book your trips now for a Guided Hunt, an
Un-Guided Hunt, or the infamous "Cast and Blast Hunt". Whatever you
decide contact us and "lets go catch you some memories"!

Trout fishing has been excellent with boat limits happening
every day. Croaker and piggy perch are still the baits of choice.
Trout are running up to 27 inches. The last two weeks or so has seen
super calm wind making a day on the water very nice. Reds are being
caught as well while trout fishing, but boat limits are not
happening for me. Reds are in the flats in Aransas and boat limits
are common for the guides that are red fishing. Piggy perch and pin
perch are the baits of choice there. The next two months should see
a gradually cooling of air and water temp making days on the water
very nice and productive. I will continue to rout fish as long as it
is consistent and productive. Enjoy a day on the water; you will be
glad that you did!

Black Drum since the falling of the high tides the black drum
fishing has been good on dead shrimp near drop offs and grass lines
near reefs free lined or on 1/8 oz. jig heads.
Trout fishing has been great as well on live Croaker and Piggy Perch
either free lined or under shakers about 1-2í, fishing 4-6í of water
with grass beds look for sweet smelling slicks that pop and fish
close to them. Donít be afraid to get out of the boat and wade
those trout also. Wading can be very productive and donít forget to
work those live baits in the potholes. Live bait on the beach has
been good too.
Red fishing has picked up and are on the flats near good tidal flow
areas look for reds in 1-3í of water and make sure to place your
baits in the potholes. Top water lures an also be deadly early in
the morning. Use live finger mullet or cut mullet fish the potholes
of your favorite flat.
Remember it is getting hot out there donít forget to stay
hydrated drink plenty of water and be aware of the signs of heat

Hello to all. August is here and it's starting off hot.
Fishing for trout has been great and will continue thru out the
month. Trout have been in deeper water in depths of 4 to 8 feet.
Look for these fish around deeper grass beds. We been catching them
on croaker and piggy perch with limits. The Redfish are showing up.
Look for them in depths of 1 to 3 feet. There biting on a verity of
baits mullet, pin perch and piggy perch. A top water bait thrown
early in the morning will draw a strike for sure. Black drum are
good on shrimp live or dead. Look for them in schooling up this
month on lower tides. August can be a very hot month be sure and
drink lots of water and wear lots of sun screen.
